Our History

Company History and timeline:

Devynock Probate Research was founded by David Thomas Marner Lloyd in 1995 in the scenic Brecon Beacons of South Wales. The company’s origins trace back to David’s personal mission of locating various investments lost by his own family throughout the years.

In 1999, David joined forces with Fred Mills from the Mills Institute of Research, collaborating on multiple projects. Recognising David’s passion and expertise in the field, Fred Mills encouraged him to establish his own dedicated asset reunification company.

Notably, in 2009, David Thomas Marner Lloyd was honored with the appointment as a High Sheriff of Powys by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Privy Council. Even during his term in this esteemed position, David continued to lead Devynock Probate Research.

Over the years, the company has served numerous prominent institutions, including major British banks, and has provided valuable assistance to the Treasury Solicitor, Queen’s and Lord Treasurer’s Remembrancer, as well as various law firms. Additionally, Devynock Probate Research has offered guidance to individuals seeking to locate and recover their lost investments.

In 2003, Devynock Probate Research Ltd was formally incorporated, allowing the workload and rewards to be shared among different family members. This step marked a significant milestone in the company’s evolution.

In 2014, a significant milestone was reached when David and his team celebrated the successful recovery of over £10 million for clients, showcasing the company’s commitment to delivering tangible results.

In 2018, a new chapter unfolded for Devynock Probate Research as they relocated from the Brecon Beacons to the prestigious Royal Victoria Patriotic Building situated on beautiful Wandsworth Common in South West London. This move represented a fresh start and ushered in a new era for the company.

In 2023, we marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of our USA office, establishing our USA headquarters in the vibrant city of San Francisco, California. This expansion signifies our commitment to serving our clients and extending our reach across international borders.

Throughout its history, Devynock Probate Research has remained dedicated to its mission of locating lost investments, serving a wide range of clients and partnering with reputable institutions.
